How Treatment Works
You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. Every one to two weeks you move to the next set in the series, and each one shifts your teeth slightly closer to their final position.
You’ll check in with us periodically so we can confirm your teeth are tracking as planned. Treatment length depends on the complexity of your case — many patients finish within 12 to 18 months, some considerably sooner.
At the end, you’ll wear a retainer. This isn’t optional. Teeth have long memories and will drift back toward their original positions without one.
Invisalign® for Teens
We treat both teenagers and adults. Most teens are ready around age 12 or 13, once enough permanent teeth have erupted for aligners to work effectively.
For the right teenager, Invisalign® is a strong option — no brackets to break, no wires to poke, no restrictions on what they can eat, and far easier to keep clean than braces. The trade-off is compliance: aligners only work when they’re in the mouth. We’ll be candid with you at the consultation about whether we think your teen is a good fit.
Why Bite Function Matters
Straight teeth that don’t come together correctly are a cosmetic result with a functional problem underneath. Both of our doctors have pursued advanced training in TMJ disorder and occlusion, and we evaluate how your teeth actually function together — not just how they look — before and during aligner treatment.
If you’ve had jaw pain, headaches, clicking, or signs of grinding, tell us at your consultation. It shapes the plan. Learn about TMJ treatment →
Paying for Invisalign®
Payment plans are available. We also offer financing through CareCredit and Cherry, and many dental plans include orthodontic benefits that apply to Invisalign® treatment. We’ll review your coverage with you and give you real numbers before you commit to anything. See Insurance + Financing →
